The good news: the world seems to be to be finally waking up to the fact that overparenting - the hovering, fussing, toddler SAT-tutoring, oh-god-will-giving-my-kid-formula-bork-his-Harvard-chances mode of hyperparenting that, seriously, just sounds exhausting - is maybe, you know, not so good if we want to raise relaxed and happy children. The bad news? There's a class for that!
Seriously. Worried that you might be overparenting? You can take a class or hire a consultant to teach you how to un-overparent yourself. Because, of course, it just couldn't be so easy as chilling the fack out. You have to work at it!
Look, if you have to take a class or find a mentor or read a book to learn how to slack with the parenting, then you're doing it wrong. Just, you know, CHILL. Seriously. grab a glass of wine - or a few shots of tequila, or chocolate, or a Xanax, or whatever it is that calms you down - and stop worrying. Parentings hard enough without worrying whether you're worrying too much. If you have to ask, you probably are. The solution? STOP.
And hang with us. We'll show you how it's done.
