If there's one thing that Canadians know well, it's winter holidays. If there's another, it's beer. So why not bring them together in one super Christmastastic glassful of awesome?
Behold, our holiday gift to you: BEER NOG.
Straight from the research kitchen of Pierre Berton, who, you probably don't know, was - with his wife, who very probably did all the heavy lifting - a cookbook author* as well as Canada's most popular historian, is this recipe for a holiday variation on beer:
You basically just boil beer with vanilla, nutmeg and egg. And if you think that sounds disgusting, you might be right - we have not tested this recipe ourselves - but know this: when it comes to expertise in mind-altering substances that leave a funny aftertaste - and you just know that beer nog is exactly that - Pierre Berton has no peer.
Also, it's Canadian. He's Canadian. We're Canadian. You're supposed to trust us about these things.
Happy Holidays! You can thank us when the hangover clears.
