Okay, so. I'm just gonna say up front that I kinda grinned at this commercial. And giggled. And snorted. And such. Which is to say: I thought it was funny. Sure, the water-tossing bit was a bit much, but otherwise, I could kinda relate a little bit, you know?
Not everybody thinks so, apparently. The YouTube channel from which I got this clip seems a little affronted. I mean, they've titled it CHILD ABUSE AD. Wait, what? Spilling flour is child abuse? So they're using CHILD ABUSE to sell television?!?! THE HORROR.
Let's review the evidence:
I guess that I just don't see anything abusive here, apart from maybe the water being tossed in the kid's face, which, while not quite waterboarding, is not something that I can get behind. But knocking a bunch of crap on the floor and putting on one's best oh-my-mommy-hell face so that one can claim, without discussion, a little me-time? I could see me doing that, or something very much like it. (I might have done something very much like it, but don't tell anybody, 'kay?)
What do you say: funny as hell, or hellishly offensive? Or, just, whatevs, I do that all the time?
**clip via @jenbshaw on Twitter. She totally thought it was funny, too.
No, that? That is HILARIOUS.
Says the mom with two little kids.

Not that I've ever done any acting when my wife gets home, mind you, but I laughed out loud when I saw where this clip was headed.

That's awesome! Of course, my kids are a little older, but I can see it. I'd probably have enlisted the kids to help me though. They're pretty sneaky :)

Ya know, my son would crack up if I threw water on his face and would probably cry when I stopped.

I think it's hilarious. It's not like she was mad and screaming at him while she tossed it in his face.

Funny! And for the record, I have tossed water in both of my boys' faces. It usually happens in the pool or playing in the backyard, but I've done it. Maybe the fact that it's milk steps over the line. (-;

I think it's amazing!!! I love it!

Oh my sides they HURT. And my kids think this is funny as well, so Child Abuse? Bah.

It's very funny - and hey: It's not real. Some kids may actually tell Daddy what just happened...it's risky business ;)

haha, i wish i was smart enough to think of that!

Okay, I've never actually thrown a drink in my kid's face, but I did think it was funny. C'mon people...lighten up.

Definitely funny. Now I can't stop giggling over it.

No way is that abuse, I wish I'd thought of it, and yeah, my kids would tell. At least I think they would once they start talking.

Totally completely funny as hell

So funny! I laughed when I saw it on TV today

I have 8 month old twins if I thought that would work before my husband got home I would do it haha. Sadly our house looks like that everyday so he doesn't have much sympathy. I haven't tried the water in the face though..

Totally funny - I was describing it to my husband last week - and he interrupted me to tell me "I know. It's hilarious."
As for the people who think it is child abuse - come on - look at some context people! Shutting a child in a box while angry = abuse. Shutting a child in a box while they are hysterically laughing and playing peekaboo = funny.
