So, Um, About That Tiger Woods Thing...

So. Let's talk about the golf-club wielding elephant in the corner.

Whenever I go to get my gossip fix, all I see is Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods, Tiiiiiiiigerrrrrrr Wooooods. Can I just say that I'm kind of shocked at the whole thing? Regardless of how much of the gossip is true (less than 50% is my guess), it's still amazing that so much is being said about - what? - a golfer.

Seriously. Before last week, the guy was about exciting as the wood paneling in my parent's rec room.

But now he's gone all porn star and waitresses and the count of lady friends seems to just be climbing. This is like discovering Stephen Harper (ed. note: Prime Minister of Canada) is a cross-dresser who's been raiding the Queen's (ed. note: Queen of England) wardrobe. I mean, I sure as all hell didn't see this one coming.

In all honesty, though, the only thing that I care about in this entire Tiger Woods debacle - and the thing I hear least about - is how the children are being protected from this bullshit, regardless of what's true and what's not. At ten months, their son isn't old enough to understand, but I really hope the two year old is not absorbing some unpleasant stuff. If she is, let's just hope she doesn't swing a golf club as well as her Mom or Daddy is gonna be in big trouble.

*sigh*

Celebrity gossip just sucks when the collateral damage involves kids. They didn't sign up for this tangled web of bullshit. Let's hope those two babies are well protected as this scandal unfolds. It's the most we can hope for in this current world of sensational distractions posing as "breaking news" (says the woman who's adding to the bullshit.)
