A young Canadian boy from Newfoundland drew a picture that became the 'official policy in Antarctica' for a British research facility in the South Pole after the image becoming popular on the web.
This right here is an excellent example of the positive power of internet.
The boy, who is in grade two, and autistic, drew a picture after witnessing an adult clearing away an inflatable penguin with a swift kick to it's inflatable snowballs.
The young boy was obviously not impressed and it inspired him to draw a picture of a penguin being kicked with a HUGE slash through it to symbolize 'NO KICKING!'
Then for emphasis he wrote the words 'No Kicking Penguins' around the outside.
When his uncle saw this awesome drawing and its message, he posted it for the world to see on Reddit and from there it just took off. Eventually it ended up becoming the official policy of all those in the British team stationed in Antarctica (who probably spend a lot of time on the internet) (but hopefully not kicking penguins).
And it is a good policy if I do say so myself.
These days all sales from t-shirts bearing his drawing will go to different autism societies. This month it's a US society and February it will be in the boy's home province of Newfoundland. T-shirts can be purchased from the No Kicking Penguins website (of course!)
